The 20 km long coastal strip at Umag has been awarded the Blue Flag, a European quality mark for clean and safe beaches. There are also various water sports facilities. If necessary you can moor your boat at Stella Maris. Diving is also one of the possibilities, as there is a diving school right next to camping Stella Maris. There are 16 tennis courts, a soccer field, a beach volleyball court, a disco and plenty of opportunities for water sports, horseback riding, paintballing and mini-golf. For the children there is a fun kids club and in the evening there are regular fun shows and live music to watch. The animation team organizes all kinds of activities for children up to 17 years old. The adults are also thought of, as they can participate in various workshops, water polo and pilates.

Explore the surroundings of Stella Maris and Croatia

At the information point at camping Stella Maris you can get lots of information about places of interest in the area. Hire a bicycle at the campsite to explore the immediate vicinity or go for a drive. Istria is a region in Croatia that certainly deserves to be discovered. The picturesque port town of Umag for example, where Stella Maris is located, is the wine town of the Istrian peninsula. For example, drive along the Bujstina wine route between Umag and the town of Buje and taste the delicious Malvasia, Teran or Muscat wine in one of the many wineries in the rolling vineyards. Also, don't forget to visit the Roman city walls in Umag, as well as the historic Sv. Pelagije church with its 33 meter high Venetian bell tower! In Roman times, this was the site of the Roman settlement of Umacus. End the day with one of the fish specialties in the marina of Umag.

Tip: right next to the camp is an ATP tennis stadium where major tournaments are regularly organized. From 19 July to 28 July 2024 the Croatia Open will take place. A big event where besides the tennis matches during the day, evening and night famous DJs play at night.
